Kyalami Hills – the final chapter.
As you know, Kyalami Hills implemented the Residential Complex Energy Reduction Solution in September of 2016.
The winter savings would be the true reflection of how effective the solution has been for them. With the high season demand tariffs coming into effect in June 1st 2017as well as the annual ESKOM price increase, the real story of this solution would be told over winter.
In this article, we are going to look at the consumption data on the peak demand from June of 2016 – August of 2016 as well as the costs and then compare to the same period in 2017.
The data provided is take directly from the ESKOM invoices and used with kind permission by the Kyalami Hills Body Corporate.
NOTE : The invoice amounts have been rounded off.
Winter 2016 – Peak demand consumption and costs.

This is a saving of 71 109 Kwh on peak demand usage – or the equivalent of 3 months peak demand consumption for the months of May, April and March of 2017.
With this final analysis, the effectiveness of Saving Energy’s Residential Complex Energy Reduction Solution has been proven beyond doubt and, to quote a well know attorney,” I put it to you that if you don’t have this in your complex yet, you are simply wasting Hundreds of Thousands of Rands every month.”
With the savings achieved here as well as the ongoing savings, these funds could be used for other complex projects without having to allocate additional funds from Body Corporate budgets – essentially (as Dire Straits put it) -” Money for Nothing!”
Lastly, with the figures above , as well as the savings achieved in the warmer months, Kyalami Hills achieved their ROI for this investment in less than 12 months which is exceptional.
The only question that remains is , ” Why aren’t you talking to us about your complex?”
